Fighting With Beads

In some places around the world Catholics are being threatened with fines or imprisonment if they pray the rosary in public. What are they afraid of?

There is a war for your mind. God wants it. Satan wants it. The world wants it. Our attention is pulled in so many directions. The world is noisy. Full of distractions. Full of things that cause anxiety. How can we cultivate a mindset of peace?

Why do you pray? What is the purpose of prayer? Is prayer simply a means of persuading God to do what you want Him to do for you? Whose "will" do you want done? Yours or God's? Do you use God rather than love God? What can we learn from the New Eve and the Last Adam to help us with a life of prayer?

We frequently try to anticipate the future with "What if..." This often keeps us in a perpetual state of worry or fear. Is this how God wants us to live? What can we do about it?

Something like praying the Rosary can seem small and insignificant. There are plenty who scoff and laugh at fighting with beads. Are they right to do so? Can praying using a string of beads really make much difference?
